Red dots!

A huge thank you to the people who bought my paintings at the Watercolour Society of Queensland exhibition in Brisbane last weekend. It gives me enormous pleasure to think that something I enjoyed painting is giving you pleasure too. Preparing for an exhibition takes many months and I am never sure whether any of my paintings will appeal to someone else. So it is a wonderful affirmation when I see that magic red dot! I find my most successful paintings are ones where I feel a deep emotional connection with the subject and it is lovely to know I have managed to communicate that and someone else feels it too.

April is a busy month with paintings in two other exhibitions in the South Burnett. Autumn Antics at Kingaroy Art Gallery contains seven of my watercolours - mainly animal and bird portraits - while in the Gardens of the South Burnett exhibition at Wondai gallery I've entered two pictures of poppies and the much loved blue wren. I hope that some of them go to good homes where they will be loved!
