Spring is here and suddenly there are hares popping up everywhere, all sizes from tiny kitten-like fur balls to ones as big as small wallabies. But they all have one thing in common and that is speed. Hares are regarded as almost magical in Europe, but here in Australia are often confused with rabbits and more commonly thought of as pests. It's true they can attack the bark of a sapling and it's best to fence your rose garden as a precaution as they, like wallabies love a rosebud, but they are truly beautiful creatures to observe. I love the way they can suddenly face the opposite direction by swivelling around rapidly. I consider myself lucky that they are frequent visitors to our garden and always feel especially charmed and blessed on a day when I see one. I always want to capture them on paper. Like this recent visitor.
